Red vs Blue
We live in a blue light world. On average, we spend over 90% of our day indoors – depriving our bodies of the natural light they require for optimal health. This is further exacerbated by our exposure to screens, with harmful blue light altering our bodies sleep cycles. Red light acts as a supplement for the sunlight you are missing out on, with powerful healing benefits for increased wellbeing.

Drink a LOT of water before and after your appointment. Think of this type of therapy like taking your cells to the gym. Drinking water after your appointment is equally important because you will be rehydrating as well as flushing toxins from your body.
Make sure your skin is clean of any oils, lotions, make-up and sunscreen applied within 1 hour prior to your appointment. Anything you apply to your skin could act as a barrier for the lights.
If your goal is weight loss, do not eat 1 hour before or 2 hours after your appointment to maximize results.
Red Light Therapy
Is red light therapy safe?
Red light therapy appears to be safe and is not associated with any side effects. This therapy is not toxic, not invasive and not as harsh as some topical skin treatments. Unlike the cancer-causing ultraviolet (UV) light from the sun or tanning booths, red light therapy doesn’t use this type of light. There is no risk of burning your skin as the heat used is very low and it is extremely safe to use on all skin types.
How does red light therapy work?
Red light therapy is thought to work by acting on the “power plant” in your body’s cells called mitochondria. With more energy, other cells can do their work more efficiently, such as repairing skin, boosting new cell growth and enhancing skin rejuvenation. More specifically, certain cells absorb light wavelengths and are stimulated to work.
Will I achieve immediate results?
Everyone’s skin is different so results can vary. Also, the wavelength of the red light source ranges. The wavelength affects how deeply the light penetrates your skin. The wavelength of the red light device being used in a doctor’s office versus in your at-home device could affect your desired result.
Can I do red light therapy every day?
The answer is yes.We recommend adding this to your recovery regimen. If you have chronic pain, it's recommended to include a daily routine 30 minutes routine of using red light therapy.
What do I wear?
Less is more when it comes to red light therapy, the more surface area you are exposing to the light the more your skin can absorb its effects and therefore more benefit you will have. Underwear or swimmers is appropriate but you can be nude in the red light room. We will provide a robe for you.
Do I need to wear eye protection?
Yes, eye protection that is provided in the room should be used during the session. Do not stare directly into the LED panels.
